Hello fellow Piwikers,

We are using WordPress 4.4, WP-Piwik, and able to see statistics in both Piwik and WP-Piwik. We installed Piwik plugin LoginHttpAuth, followed the sample file https://raw.githubusercontent.com/piwik/plugin-LoginHttpAuth/master/TemplateHtaccess/.htaccess, tweaked the sample file, tried lots of other variations of settings in .htaccess and /etc/apache2/apache2.conf (i.e. including ideas from this thread), and got the same result:

At the piwik login, the popup dialog box appears, the .htpassword login is recognized, and the Piwik login page is loaded. When we enter our Piwik superuser login + password, we get "Error: Wrong Username and password combination."

Another WP-Piwik user had run into a similar issue https://wordpress.org/support/topic/piwik-plugin-loginhttpauth-blocks-wp-piwik?replies=3#post-7862554 , and was told "... ask the plugin's author how to use the Piwik API in combination with his HttpAuth plugin." What settings do you recommend or does the LoginHttpAuth plugin need updating to be compatible with WP-Piwik? Thanks. =)
